
Fionnuala Doyle Wade
Contemporary Director
Fionnuala is a contemporary dance artist from Seattle, and has made Galway her home since 2014. She received her early movement training in modern and ballet with the Creative Dance Centre and Kaleidoscope Modern Dance Company. She then went on to train at Cornish College of the Arts in their pre-professional ballet division. Fionnuala attended summer intensives across the US including Walnut Hill School for the Arts (Boston) and Dance This (Seattle). She was asked to return to Kaleidoscope Dance company as a choreographer for their 2014 Spring performance.
Fionnuala joined the Genevieve Ryan Dance Academy in 2017 and has choreographed numerous pieces for the GRDA Company class, including ‘This Bitter Earth’ which was showcased at Noise Moves Youth Dance Festival 2019 and at Dublin Youth Dance Festival 2019. She was chosen to work with Erik Kaiel of Arch 8 (Netherlands) and Amelie Bal of the Galway Community Circus for ‘The Streets Are Ours’ a project of Baboró International Arts Festival Galway 2020 programme. She was also selected to partake in Brú Theatre’s artist development program ‘Remote Control’, receiving mentorship from choreographer Oona Doherty. She is also a part of the Emergence Young Choreographers Mentorship Program for 2020/21, and has most recently received an Arts Council Professional Development Award to train with dance artist Lucia Kickham.
